I'm glad that the GPDubai meeting last Friday, February 8 went well. Two new talents were added to the already illustrious crop of GPDubai artists. First, is a lady Architect and the other one is a painter/artist who was actually a participant of the first ever GPDubai meeting/brainstorming session held June 15 of last year at Reef Mall, Dubai. We all know that more talents are still in hiding so do invite them and encourage them to share and join us in our activities.
Our exhibit at the Global Village, Philippine Pavilion is still on so don't hesitate to drop there and visit our booth. If you have any inquiries kindly contact anyone of this site Admin: Liza, Japat and the other officers whom you can find hanging around the Philippine Pavilion. Again, since we still have several weeks to show-off, we still urge you to participate in the ongoing exhibit by posting your artworks at the booth.
Right now, I'm in Manila as most of you know, so allow me to share some of the refreshing reports I have here...
I just met with the organizers of GuhitPinoy Philippines and they are so admirable of the passion and the efforts you guys out there in Dubai are doing for GuhitPinoy. Interestingly, it seems we were able to channel this enthusiasm to them, that's why they are now planning to have a GuhitPinoy Global exhibit this year in Manila. Talks now are ongoing with the rest of GuhitPinoy Global chapters so expect to hear developments in the coming weeks and prepare your most freaking masterpieces.
The 4th KOMIKON (Philippine Comics Convention) will be held this October in a new and bigger venue, this convention was previously held in UP Bahay ng Alumni in Diliman, QC, and its 2008 edition is being planned at Megatrade Hall, at SM Megamall. GuhitPinoy Global will have a booth in this con and GPDubai is expected of course to play an important role in this occassion. Prints of original artworks are allowed to make it worry-free especially for us artists who will not be physically present at the exhibit. Further details will be posted soon so keep on tune...
